For those unfamiliar with the history, “Lagaan” and “Gadar: Ek Prem Katha” had originally clashed at the box office on June 15, 2001. Despite the intense competition, both films achieved phenomenal success, emerging as two of the biggest hits of 2001.

In a remarkable turn of events, “Gadar 2” has replicated the success of its predecessor in 2023. Trade expert Taran Adarsh shared the exhilarating news on Saturday, September 2, saying, “#Gadar2 is an UNSTOPPABLE FORCE, inches closer to ₹500 crore… Await the JUMP on [fourth] Sat and Sun… [Week 4] Fri 5.20 cr. Total: ₹487.65 cr. #India biz. #Boxoffice.” With the film’s astounding performance, it is anticipated to swiftly cross the ₹500 crore mark.

“Gadar 2” is a cinematic masterpiece set against the backdrop of the 1971 Indo-Pak war. In this sequel, Tara Singh (Sunny Deol) and Sakeena (Ameesha Patel) lead a blissful married life, and their son Charan Jeet Singh (portrayed by Utkarsh Sharma, who also essayed the child’s role in the 2001 original) has grown into a young man. However, a twist of fate lands Charan Jeet in Pakistan, and Tara Singh embarks on a heroic journey to rescue his son.
