Reactions Pour in as Chandrayaan-3 Prepares for Moon Landing
ISRO’s ambitious third Moon mission, Chandrayaan-3, is all set to land on the lunar surface on Wednesday evening, and reactions are pouring in from all corners. West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee expressed her pride in the mission and urged people to stand together and cheer for its successful soft landing. The Islamic Center of India in Lucknow organized namaz (Islamic prayers) for the successful landing of Chandrayaan-3. Similarly, a special ‘Bhasma Aarti’ was performed at Shree Mahakaleshwar Temple in Ujjain, Madhya Pradesh, and Ganga Aarti was performed at Parmarth Niketan Ghat in Rishikesh, Uttarakhand.

Indian-American cardiologist Dr Avinash Gupta highlighted the excitement among the Indian diaspora in the United States to witness the Chandrayaan-3 landing on the Moon. Actor Anupam Kher also showed his support and appreciation for the scientists, staff, technicians, and everyone associated with ISRO. Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath announced that the moon landing will be telecast live in all state-run schools in Uttar Pradesh, with schools opening specially for one hour in the evening for viewing.
Religious Significance
The Vishva Hindu Parishad (VHP) announced a mega ‘yajna’ (ritual) that will be held in the national capital to pray for the successful landing of Chandrayaan-3. The ‘yajna’ will be performed by the Arya Samaj and the VHP at the Arya Samaj Mandir in Sant Nagar.
