Samsung’s Android 15 rollout isn’t going as planned. The company has reportedly pulled the One UI 7 update due to a serious bug affecting Galaxy devices, especially in South Korea.

Galaxy S24 Bug Forces Samsung to Pause One UI 7

According to well-known tipster IceUniverse on X, Samsung discovered a critical flaw in the firmware of Galaxy S24 units sold in South Korea. Users were unable to unlock their phones after installing the One UI 7 update, prompting the company to suspend the global rollout.

While Samsung hasn’t officially announced the halt, the buzz across forums and social media suggests that the update has been pulled behind the scenes. The issue seems significant enough to delay the update indefinitely, at least until a stable fix is in place.

Frustration Mounts as Update Stalls for Flagship Owners

Samsung introduced One UI 7 alongside the Galaxy S25 series earlier this year, promising a refreshed interface and enhanced personalization. But for most Galaxy S21, S22, and S23 owners, that experience is still out of reach.

The update delays have particularly affected devices running the Exynos chip, though it’s unclear if the issue is exclusive to them. What’s puzzling is how such a major bug slipped through despite internal testing. Samsung touts its seven-year OS upgrade commitment, but users are beginning to doubt the rollout quality.

Meanwhile, Galaxy S20 users are also in limbo. Their last update arrived in March 2025, and One UI 7 was supposed to be the next big upgrade — now postponed with no ETA.

Competitors Have Moved Ahead

Samsung’s troubles stand in contrast to its rivals. Brands like Xiaomi, OnePlus, Sony, and Motorola began pushing Android 15 updates as early as November 2024. Many of their devices are already running stable versions of the OS.

Samsung, once praised for speeding up its update timelines, now finds itself playing catch-up — again.
