Samsung Galaxy Z Flip FE Launch Delayed to Q4 2025

The highly anticipated Samsung Galaxy Z Flip FE, initially expected to launch alongside the Galaxy Z Fold 7 and Flip 7 series in mid-2025, has now been delayed to the fourth quarter of the year. Initially, this foldable device was set to bring an affordable option to the foldable market, but Samsung is reassessing its strategy and will likely align it with its current product lineup. Here’s what to expect from the upcoming Galaxy Z Flip FE launch.

Affordable Foldable Strategy: Samsung’s New Approach

Samsung had planned to introduce its first “Fan Edition” (FE) foldable model, aiming to lower the entry price for foldables and make them more accessible to a wider audience. However, the timeline shift means the Galaxy Z Flip FE will not make its debut alongside the Z Fold and Flip 7 series this summer. Instead, Samsung is pushing its release to Q4 2025, possibly in October, just after Apple’s iPhone 17 series drops.

Reports suggest that the Z Flip FE could be powered by the same Exynos chipset found in the premium Galaxy S24 series, which may signal an effort to maintain competitive performance while offering a more budget-friendly foldable. Samsung’s shift towards offering foldables at a lower price point may open up the market to a broader customer base, and it will be interesting to see how the company positions this new product in an increasingly competitive foldable market.

What to Expect from the New Foldable Models

While details about the exact features of the Galaxy Z Flip FE remain under wraps, it’s clear that Samsung’s focus will be on making the foldable experience more accessible without compromising too much on performance. The delay in the Z Flip FE’s release also means the company will likely unveil its first tri-fold device alongside it in Q4 2025, setting the stage for a major foldable device launch by the end of the year.

Meanwhile, rumors surrounding Samsung’s upcoming Galaxy S25 Edge suggest a possible launch as early as May 2025, focusing on select markets. On top of these developments, Samsung is also addressing One UI 7 delays for its previous Galaxy S series phones, with the Android 15 update expected to reach Indian markets this week.
