Royal Enfield is hitting the throttle hard in 2025. The iconic motorcycle brand has reported a strong 26% year-over-year jump in total sales for May, driven by impressive growth both at home and abroad.

Domestic Sales See Steady Climb

In May 2025, Royal Enfield sold a total of 89,429 motorcycles, up from 71,010 units in May 2024. A major contributor to this boost was the Indian market, where domestic sales rose 19% to 75,820 units, compared to 63,531 during the same month last year.

This uptick reflects ongoing consumer confidence in mid-size motorcycles, especially in urban and semi-urban markets. Royal Enfield’s recent model refreshes and brand positioning have resonated well with younger riders seeking a blend of tradition and performance. The company’s growing dealership network and improved after-sales support have also played key roles in sustaining momentum.

Exports Accelerate with 82% Growth

Meanwhile, the brand’s international push is paying off in a big way. Exports surged by 82% to 13,609 units in May 2025, up from 7,479 units in May 2024. This sharp rise underscores Royal Enfield’s growing global appeal, particularly in markets like Europe, Southeast Asia, and Latin America, where demand for retro-style motorcycles has seen a notable rise.

B Govindarajan, CEO of Royal Enfield, commented on the milestone, stating, “This month, we’ve continued to build on our momentum with steady growth in India and international markets.” The statement reflects the brand’s dual strategy of strengthening its domestic base while aggressively expanding overseas.

Looking Ahead: What’s Fueling the Growth?

Royal Enfield’s consistent innovation in the mid-size motorcycle segment—particularly models like the Meteor 350, Classic 350, and Hunter 350—has given it a distinct advantage. Riders are increasingly drawn to bikes that offer style, reliability, and a strong community-driven brand experience. The recent success in exports also highlights the effectiveness of localized strategies and partnerships in global markets.

With the launch of new models on the horizon and continued expansion into untapped markets, Royal Enfield is well-positioned to maintain its upward trajectory. The company’s performance in May 2025 is more than just a sales figure—it’s a signal of strong brand health and rising demand worldwide.
