The budget wearable market in India is heating up, and Xiaomi’s latest release—the Redmi Watch Move—enters the fray with promising features at a compelling price.

Refreshed Design with Everyday Comfort

The Redmi Watch Move immediately draws comparisons to the Apple Watch SE with its square-shaped dial and sleek crown. Weighing just 39 grams with the strap, it’s surprisingly comfortable for all-day wear—even overnight. Though some users might notice mild wrist marks if worn too tightly, overall comfort remains a strong suit.

The strap is made of skin-friendly TPU, and unlike earlier Xiaomi wearables, it doesn’t irritate the skin. However, the inner-side hook mechanism might not appeal to everyone. Xiaomi plans to launch additional strap options later, giving users more customization choices.

AMOLED Display and Functional Software

One of the key highlights of the Redmi Watch Move is its 1.85-inch AMOLED screen. The display boasts solid outdoor visibility, thin-looking bezels, and a subtle 2.5D curve that adds a touch of sophistication. It also supports Always-on Display, giving it a premium feel that’s rare at this price point.

Users can personalize their experience with a selection of preloaded watch faces or download more via the Mi Fitness app. The app provides an intuitive layout across four main tabs—tracking health, fitness, device controls, and synced data—all linked to your Mi account. While the health data shouldn’t be treated as clinical-grade, it’s more than sufficient for everyday tracking.

Health Tracking and Battery Life

The Redmi Watch Move features reliable sensors for basic health metrics, including step count, sleep tracking, and hydration reminders. The step counter has a minor margin of error (around 10–15 steps), but sleep monitoring stood out with detailed insights into sleep duration, naps, and quality.

Meanwhile, the rotating crown lets you navigate through menus or activate voice assistance, including Hindi support, with a long press. Haptic feedback adds to the overall polish of the user experience. Running on Xiaomi’s HyperOS for wearables, the interface feels smooth and snappy, offering quick access to features like weather and water tracking.

Battery life is another win. While Xiaomi claims up to 14 days of backup on light usage, our intensive testing—with Always-on Display enabled—delivered a respectable 5 days. With basic usage, it easily stretches to a full week. The 300mAh battery charges fully in just over an hour using the included proprietary charger.

In summary, the Redmi Watch Move strikes an excellent balance between affordability and functionality. From a bright AMOLED display and smooth software to dependable health tracking and a week-long battery, it’s one of the best value wearables under Rs 2,000 currently on the Indian market.
