Ranbir Kapoor is fully booked this year, balancing two high-profile films—Love And War and the much-anticipated Ramayana. As excitement builds, new updates reveal a major shift in production momentum for the epic saga.
Ramayana Part 2: Filming Begins This May
According to a report by Mid-day, Ranbir Kapoor is all set to start shooting Ramayana: Part Two in May. The actor, currently shooting for Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Love And War, will soon juggle both projects. With a noticeably different look for the Bhansali film, the team reportedly conducted fresh look tests to ensure a seamless return to his role as Lord Ram.
The second installment is said to have a darker, more intense tone. As a result, Ranbir’s costumes are being redesigned to reflect this shift. Meanwhile, co-star Sai Pallavi, who plays Sita, is expected to film the iconic Ashok Vatika scenes during this schedule.
What to Expect From the Upcoming Schedule
Two key songs will also be shot before the monsoon season begins, making this leg of the schedule crucial. The production aims to wrap filming for Ramayana: Part Two by October, keeping the project on track for its Diwali 2027 release.
Ranbir was recently spotted with a fan in a viral photo, sporting a sharp moustache, fueling buzz around his updated look for the role of Lord Ram. Fans online are already praising the transformation and expressing their excitement for the epic tale.
Epic Vision Behind Ramayana
Directed by Nitesh Tiwari, the two-part saga is a cinematic retelling of the ancient epic. Producer Namit Malhotra shared his vision, stating, “More than a decade ago, I embarked on a noble quest to bring this epic that has ruled billions of hearts for over 5000 years to the big screen.” He added that the team is committed to presenting the most “authentic, sacred, and visually stunning” version of Ramayana.
