Challenging Matches

In the semifinal clash, veteran Sharath Kamal faced a tough opponent in Chuang Chih-Yuan, who is ranked 26th in the world. Despite his best efforts, Sharath succumbed to a 0-3 defeat with scores of 6-11, 6-11, 9-11, giving Chinese Taipei an early lead in the tie.

“It was a challenging match, and Chuang Chih-Yuan played exceptionally well. I gave my best, but today, he was the better player on the table,” said Sharath Kamal.

Meanwhile, G Sathiyan, the experienced Indian paddler, faced an uphill battle against the world number 7, Lin Yun-Ju. Sathiyan fought valiantly but ultimately went down with scores of 5-11, 6-11, 10-12, further extending Chinese Taipei’s lead to 0-2.

However, Kao Cheng-Jui ultimately sealed the tie for Chinese Taipei with a hard-fought victory, winning the match with scores of 11-6, 11-7, 7-11, 11-9. Despite the loss, Harmeet Desai’s spirited performance was commendable.
