Welcome To The Jungle – Akshay Kumar and Raveena Tandon Reunite on the Big Screen
It wouldn’t be wrong to say that Welcome To The Jungle has become one of the most highly anticipated films after Hera Pheri 3. According to reports, the film will see Akshay Kumar and Paresh Rawal reprising their roles. The iconic Munna Bhai duo of Sanjay Dutt and Arshad Warsi will replace Anil Kapoor and Nana Patekar. Speculations also suggest that Suniel Shetty has joined the cast of the third installment of this hit comedy franchise.
Released in 2007, Welcome was directed by Priyadarshan and has achieved a cult status over the years. The characters Uday Shetty and Majnu bhai continue to be part of Instagram’s meme fest even today.
However, the most interesting aspect of Welcome To The Jungle is the reunion of Akshay Kumar and Raveena Tandon on the big screen. The former couple has previously delivered hit films like Mohra (1994) and Khiladiyon Ka Khiladi (1996). Fans are beyond elated to see them together again. In fact, Smartkhabrinews Showsha has exclusively learned that Raveena is indeed a part of the project. Discussions between Raveena and director Ahmed Khan began as early as 2019 during the shooting of the dance reality show, Nach Baliye 9.
A source revealed, “It was during Nach Baliye 9 that Raveena and Ahmed struck up a friendship. Ahmed expressed his interest in working with her, and Raveena was excited about collaborating with him. He approached Raveena with a script, which has now become Welcome To The Jungle.”
The source further revealed that Raveena and Akshay will be paired opposite each other and will have some incredibly hilarious scenes in the film. Paresh Rawal recently mentioned in an interaction that if all goes well, Welcome To The Jungle will start shooting in October this year. Confirming the news, the source said, “Yes, the shoot is most likely to begin in the first week of October in Mumbai. Subsequent schedules might take place in other parts, including overseas.”
Unfortunately, Raveena Tandon was unavailable for comment at the time of reaching out to her. In related news, the second installment of the Welcome franchise titled Welcome Back was released in 2015 and starred John Abraham and Shruti Haasan. Although it didn’t match the success of the first film, it performed decently well at the box office. Rawal, Kapoor, and Patekar reprised their original roles in Welcome Back.
