Nothing is gearing up to make waves in the global smartphone market with the much-anticipated release of the Nothing Phone 3. Launching on July 1, 2025, this next-generation device promises major upgrades in performance, software support, and imaging capabilities—positioning it as the company’s first true flagship contender.

Snapdragon 8s Gen 4 Powers the Nothing Phone 3

At the heart of the Nothing Phone 3 lies the cutting-edge Snapdragon 8s Gen 4 chipset, designed for top-tier efficiency and high performance. According to Akis Evangelidis, Nothing’s co-founder and Head of Marketing, the chip’s all–big core setup gives it an edge in power management and processing strength over its predecessor, the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3.

When questioned by fans on X (formerly Twitter), Evangelidis explained that the 8 Gen 3 falls short in areas like GPU, NPU, connectivity, and ISP. Meanwhile, the 8s Gen 4 offers stronger default hardware and unlocks the door to longer-term software commitments—something that truly sets the Phone 3 apart in a competitive Android landscape.

5 Years of Android Updates, 7 Years of Security Support

In a notable shift from past models, the Nothing Phone 3 will offer 5 years of Android OS updates and 7 years of security patches. This represents a serious commitment to longevity and rivals software support policies from industry leaders like Google and Samsung.

By contrast, the Nothing Phone 2 launched in 2023 offered just 3 years of Android upgrades and 4 years of security updates. Even the recently announced Nothing Phone 3a Pro is limited to 3 years of major updates and 6 years of security support. This makes the Phone 3 an outlier—and a promising choice for users prioritizing long-term value and device sustainability.

Camera Innovation with Spectra 18-bit Triple ISP

Another key highlight is the dramatic boost in camera technology. Evangelidis teased a “big upgrade” powered by the Spectra 18-bit Triple ISP. This new image signal processor introduces real-time segmentation of up to 12 layers, enabling users to enhance various elements in photos with superior clarity and color accuracy.

The advanced ISP will likely deliver more refined image processing, improved depth mapping, and next-level AI enhancements for photography enthusiasts. If camera performance is a top priority, the Phone 3 might just be one of 2025’s best Android smartphones to watch.

Global Release and India Availability

The Nothing Phone 3 global launch is locked in for July 1, 2025, and India is among the first countries to receive the device. Indian customers can purchase the smartphone exclusively on Flipkart post-launch.

With a combination of next-gen hardware, extended update policies, and standout imaging features, the Nothing Phone 3 is poised to challenge flagship devices in the premium Android segment. Whether you’re a longtime fan or new to the brand, this release may be the most compelling yet from Nothing.
