Schools Closed in Indore District Due to Heavy Rains
Schools will remain shut today in the Indore district of Madhya Pradesh, collector Dr. Ilaiyaraaja T has announced. As per media reports, all government and private schools have been directed to remain closed today, September 16 due to heavy rains, keeping in mind the safety of the children, the collector added. Schools will remain closed for all classes.

Several areas of Madhya Pradesh have been affected for the last two days due to heavy rains. According to the meteorological department, heavy rains will continue in the state till September 17. Further, schools will remain shut in Narmadapuram district as well, reported TimesNow. The Meteorological Department has issued red and yellow alerts in many parts for the next three days.
Areas Under Heavy Rainfall Warning
A warning of heavy rain has been issued in the following districts today: Burhanpur, Khargone, Barwani, Alirajpur, Jhabua, Dhar, Indore, and Dewas. Apart from this, there is a possibility of heavy rain in many parts of Sehore, Raisen, Narmada Puram, Betul, Harda, Khandwa, Ratlam, Ujjain, and Chhindwara.
The districts under yellow alert include Vidisha, Bhopal, Raisen, Rajgarh, Shajapur, Mandsaur, Neemuch, Guna, Bhind, Morena, Shivpuri, Narsinghpur, Sheopur, and Balaghat districts. A warning of heavy rain has been issued in many parts for September 17 as well, including Khargone, Barwani, Alirajpur, Jhabua, Dhar, and Indore districts.

Weather Conditions in Madhya Pradesh
The Meteorological Department has stated that a low-pressure area has formed in the surrounding parts of eastern Madhya Pradesh, resulting in heavy rainfall in many parts of the state. It is expected to move towards western Madhya Pradesh and Gujarat in the next three to four days. The monsoon trough is passing through the center of Bikaner, Kota Raisen, east-southeast and north-east Bay of Bengal, due to which it is raining.
According to the department, rainfall ranging from 5 cm to 24 cm has been recorded in many parts of the state in the last 24 hours. Maximum rainfall has been recorded in Seoni and Balaghat. Along with this, rainfall has also been recorded in Anuppur, Mandla, Narsinghpur, and Chhindwara as well as in Khargone, Timarni, Shamshabad, Silwani, Gulabganj Khandwa areas of the state.
