Apple Delays M3 MacBook Launch Until 2023

The tech giant, Apple, headquartered in Cupertino, is in the spotlight once again as rumors swirl about the release of new MacBook models featuring the latest M3 chips. While earlier reports hinted at a 2022 launch for these highly anticipated devices, a recent leak from supply chain analyst Ming-Chi Kuo suggests that Apple may postpone the release until 2023.

Kuo’s statement contradicts previous speculations, such as Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman’s prediction that the October Apple event this year would showcase the new Macs equipped with the M3 chip. Gurman specifically mentioned the 13-inch MacBook Air, 13-inch MacBook Pro, and 24-inch iMac as potential candidates for the M3 chip. However, Kuo’s latest information excludes new MacBooks from the 2022 lineup but leaves room for the possibility of a new iMac later this year.

What Is the M3 Chip?

According to MacRumors, the M3 chip, which is yet to be officially revealed by Apple, is expected to be manufactured using TSMC’s cutting-edge 3nm process. This advancement promises significant improvements in performance and power efficiency compared to the existing M2 chip, which Apple introduced in June 2022. The M2 chip is based on the 5nm process and has already set high standards in the industry for its performance capabilities.

Apple’s ‘Wonderlust’ Event on September 12

While the delay in the release of M3 MacBooks might be disappointing for Apple enthusiasts, the company is gearing up for another exciting event. Apple’s ‘Wonderlust’ event is scheduled for September 12 and promises to unveil a range of new products.

At this event, Apple is set to introduce its latest iPhone 15 models, which include the iPhone 15, iPhone 15 Plus, iPhone 15 Pro, and iPhone 15 Pro Max/Ultra. Alongside the iPhone 15 series, the brand is also expected to take the wraps off new smartwatches — the Apple Watch Series 9 and Watch Ultra 2, as well as new AirPods featuring a USB-C port.

The ‘Wonderlust’ event will commence at 10:00 AM in Apple Park, California, with Apple CEO Tim Cook delivering the keynote address. For viewers in India, the iPhone 15 launch event will be available for live streaming starting at 10:30 PM IST. You can catch the event on Apple’s website, Apple TV app, and YouTube.

Pre-Orders and Release Date

Reports have indicated that pre-orders for the new iPhones are expected to open on September 15. If all goes as planned, the iPhone 15 series could hit the market on September 22, allowing eager customers to get their hands on the latest Apple innovations.

In summary, while the delay in the launch of M3 MacBook models may disappoint some, Apple’s ‘Wonderlust’ event on September 12 promises to bring a wave of excitement with the unveiling of the iPhone 15 series, new Apple Watch models, and updated AirPods. Stay tuned for more updates as the event unfolds.
